Location / venue
Heading to North, Colico is the last town you'll find on the Eastern Coast of the Como Lake.
A perfect position for sailing, with thermal wind blowing from ENE in the morning (named "Tivano", 2 to 5 kn).
At 10-11 AM, when sunshine begins to heat up mountains surrounding Colico, the WSW wind (named "Breva", usually from 10 to 18 kn) starts and gives its best up to 7-8 PM, sometimes even more.
In summer, after storms, very strong, gusty and shifty winds coming from N or NNE ("San Vincenzo" or "Ventone", up to 25 kn and more) may hit the area, making sailing a sport for the bravest and positioning the marks for the regatta a real nightmare!
